Job Summary

Looking for hard-working and reliable Line Support workers to join our growing operation. In this role, you may work in the in roasting, canning line mixing, production, high speed line doing various jobs such as packing, sorting, dumping, boxing and making boxes, scanning.




Duties and Responsibilities

• Packer turns and picks up from behind by hand an empty box or tray and places it on the rolling conveyor.
• A bag of nuts comes down moving conveyor, packer counts bags and picks bags up by hand packer must place bags of nuts into boxes or trays until full.
• Packer then pushes by hand the full box or tray down the rolling conveyor (approx. 5-10 lb boxes)
• When there is downtime packer will do housekeeping and re-work on their line and make up cardboard boxes or trays.
• Material handler brings to conveyor a pallet of empty plastic jars where packer picks up 4 empty plastic jars at a time and places by hand onto moving conveyor.
• As machine fills empty plastic jars of nuts you will have some jars that are kicked out due to light weight, extra nuts are placed in jar by hand and weighed on scale then placed back on moving conveyor where machine puts lid and label on full jars. (Nuts can only be added to lines of plain nuts, mixed product must be sent to re-work/mixing.)
• Jar will go through the capper which will place a lid on jar, EE must stand on side of capper and push the cap down and twist cap to tighten, this position must rotate every 1-2 hours due to this motion, EE will be rotating with 2-3 other EE’s this could consist of packing, labeling/making boxes, sliding boxes through tape machine, or tapping/tightening caps.
• After full jar is labeled packer then picks up jar by hand and places it into empty cardboard tray and then pushed by hand on rolling conveyor to be taped/palletized.
• When there is downtime packer will do housekeeping and re-work on their line and make up cardboard trays.
• Makes up by hand cardboard boxes or cardboard trays and stacks by hand on empty wooden pallet placed on floor by material handler. The pallet of empty cardboard boxes or trays will be moved by manual pallet jack behind packer by the end of production line palletizer. RE-WORK: Open up by hand or safety knives bags/jars of re-work nuts and pour product into empty super sack that plastic bags cover inside of empty super sack until it is full. Once full must notify FLO so product will be taken to designated area.
• HOUSEKEEPING: Around machine and re-work area, sweep up excess nuts and pick up excess empty plastic bags off floor place in 55 gal trash barrel.
• EE may be doing several different positions within this line.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspection & Conformance

• Inspect all electronic manufactured assemblies for conformance to customer specifications and applicable IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 requirements.
• Perform machine set-up verifications and First Piece Inspections (FPI) using visual inspection and/or AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection).
• Perform in-process and final inspections at defined checkpoints as outlined in traveler/routing documentation.
• Operate and program AOI equipment to execute automated optical inspection routines.
• Operate and program X-Ray equipment for inspection of BTC (Bottom Terminated Component) solder joints and hidden connections.
• Perform kit inspections prior to production start, verifying component quantities, polarity, part markings, and moisture/static sensitivity levels.

Documentation & Traceability

• Review internal Travelers (routing/production paperwork) and verify all required manufacturing steps have been completed and signed off before releasing to the next operation.
• Understand and interpret all production paperwork including Bills of Materials (BOM), Assembly Drawings, Special Instructions, part specifications, and routings.
• Document and report all inspection findings accurately and legibly on the applicable traveler or inspection record.
• Record all identified defects into the PGI QC Rejection/Defect Database in a timely manner.
• Perform serialization and labeling of completed assemblies and record that information per the applicable work instruction to support product traceability.

Nonconformance & Corrective Action

• Initiate Non-Conforming Reports (NCRs) in Cetec ERP for specific failures as required, and tag/quarantine nonconforming product per QALTY0050 (Red Tag / Quarantine Area WI).
• Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel to investigate and resolve inspection issues.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities as directed by the Quality Manager.

ESD & Handling

• Adhere to all ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling and wrist/heel strap check requirements per QALTY0013.
• Research electronic component specifications as needed to identify:
• Component polarity
• Part markings and part number verification
• Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) and associated handling requirements
• ESD sensitivity classification

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma, GED, or Technical School certificate (required).
• Minimum 5 years of prior work experience in Quality Assurance in an electronics manufacturing environment (required).
• Experience with PCB/PCBA inspection in an EMS or contract manufacturing environment (preferred).

Certifications

• IPC J-STD-001 Certified Specialist (required — must maintain current certification).
• IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) or equivalent (required — must maintain current certification).
• ESD Awareness training (required per QALTY0013; completed within 30 days of hire).

Knowledge & Skills

REQUIREMENTS

• Follow all PGI Quality Work Instructions (WIs) within the QALTY series relevant to inspection duties, including but not limited to QALTY0040 (Surface Mount Inspection), QALTY0041 (First Piece Inspection), QALTY0043 (Through Hole Inspection), and QALTY0050 (Red Tag / Quarantine Area).
• Comply with all AS9100D QMS requirements and PGI quality policies including QLP001 (Quality Policy).
• Adhere to ITAR requirements and maintain confidentiality of controlled technical data.
• Attend all required training sessions as directed by the Quality Manager and maintain training records per QALTY training requirements.
• Maintain IPC certifications at current status; notify Quality Manager immediately if certification lapses.
• Report any product nonconformances, process deviations, or quality escapes to the Quality Manager immediately upon detection

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Standard production floor environment; exposure to PCB assembly equipment and associated materials.
• Must be flexible to work weekends, overtime, or an alternate shift on occasion as directed by the Quality Manager.
• Use of ESD-protective equipment (wrist straps, heel straps, smocks) is required at all ESD-controlled workstations.
