We are seeking a self-starter with Production Supervisor experience. This position oversees the day-to-day operations and contributions to the success of the plant, by supervising the production team to meet
customer needs and achieve standards, line efficiencies, safety and productivity.
Role and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Every day print out and review ‘Customer shipping and delivery report’, with production manager.
• Collect all pull signals and move products to shipping with pull signals.
• Prioritize work orders as required based on shipping report.
• Identify and expedite shortages for work orders on the floor by coordinating with warehouse supervisor.
• Assist Leads in controlling work orders by verifying work order balances.
• Ensure that all products are built per the latest revision level indicated in the engineering drawing and work order.
• Ensure that all deviations are authorized by the appropriate parties as required.
• Make sure that all customer specific requirements are met such as labeling, special marking on the boxes etc.
• Assist Lead in controlling the process, identifying the problems and taking corrective actions.
• Notify QC of any material/component problems and/or nonconforming product.
• If containment is initiated, be sure to identify, isolate and quarantine the suspect material on production floor until further information from QC.
• Assist Leads in monitoring process and ensure that the work instructions are being adhered to.
• Train and cross train Leads on department functions. Ensure Leads cross train employees.
• Discuss quality issues with Leads and suggest and improve on quality.
• Discuss, monitor standards with Leads and identify the problems and notify management.
• Ensure that all employees are following all safety precautions and notify management of any safety hazards.
• Monitor employee attendance and tardiness with the help of human resources and discipline employees accordingly.
• Co-ordinate with shipping department, to ship products as per shipping report and on time.
• Assist in expediting special shipment requested by sales departments.
• Assist in providing information to sales departments on the status of products and/or work orders on the production floor.
• Attend and participate in production meeting to discuss continuous improvement to improve quality, reduce production cost, minimize waste etc.
• Check and verify completed work orders for discrepancies and correct the problems and get Leads involved in order to avoid recurrences.
• Hold completed work orders in designated folder/cabinet until the product is shipped. Then attach the shipping instructions to the work order and file
the work orders in the cabinet.
• Conduct periodic meeting with Leads on the improvement of quality and controlling the process.
• Resolve any minor personal issues/conflicts among employees.
• Monitor mechanics’ job performance and emphasize on mechanics’ cross training.
• Ensure employees are following all safety precautions and notify management of any safety hazards.
