The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for supporting operations. In our Work Furniture Business, we design, manufacture, and distribute a wide range of components and finished products that enhance comfort, motion, and style in the work and home furniture industry. The purchasing agent will partner with internal and external stakeholders to achieve operation goals regarding on time delivery, customer satisfaction, and inventory targets. Other responsibilities will be:
Key Responsibilities:
Negotiate supplier agreements; sourcing and qualifying new suppliers when needed.
Manage preferred vendor agreements.
Prepare and submit purchase orders to suppliers by verifying specifications and price; obtain recommendations for substitute items as needed; monitor and expedite orders
Coordinate with CSR group and management to provide information regarding shipments and pending orders.
Verify receipt of items; resolve errors in shipments with suppliers
Authorize payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation
Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
Coordinate with work group to provide accurate and timely information to personnel not centered at the branch location
Qualifications:
3 to 5 years’ experience in purchasing
Fluency with computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel
