The Junior Mold Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and planning for ensuring that machines and molds stay if working order to support production.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be mechanically inclined and have a strong ability to use basic hand tools
Perform insert changeovers for production
Perform preventive mold maintenance as per instruction and assigned intervals
Inspect mold for defects and plan for solutions to prevent downtime
General housekeeping around the shop and maintain safe work environment
Maintain cleanliness, safety and functionality of mold components, tools and equipment
Maintain plastic injection molds and equipment is in optimal running condition
Work independently with strong technical knowledge
Effective communication skills both verbally and written
Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures
Other responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalency required
Technical degree or certificate a plus
Knowledge of plastic processing and troubleshooting
Basic math skills. Basic electrical skills Basic computer skills
Read, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools
Possess good hand-eye coordination with manual dexterity
Forklift training (can be completed on the job)
Must be able to work 6am to 4:30pm

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is usually in an indoor concrete floored precision machining shop. General noise level can fluctuate from medium to high on a constant basis.
