Mega Force Staffing of Kinston is currently seeking an experienced and results-driven Molding Manager to lead our molding operations and ensure the production of high-quality plastic parts. As a Molding Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management of molding processes, equipment, and team performance. You will play a key role in optimizing production efficiency, maintaining safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of molding processes to help our team meet production goals while ensuring consistent product quality.
Role and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Plans, directs, monitors, and reports on the daily operation of the molding department
Completes daily production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel as needed; establishing shift priorities
Monitors progress and quality problems; reports results of each shift production
Maintains workflow and process, monitors personnel and resources
Initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within molding and cross-functional departments
Maintains staff by training, coaching, and disciplining employees
Resolves personnel problems by investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action
Responsible for the safety, quality, and productivity in the assigned work areas within the department
Manages all employees on 3 shifts for molding
Responsible for inventory counts and raw material dispositions and ordering consumables or equipment required
Must be on call for emergencies on all shifts
Provide weekly and monthly metrics for shift efficiencies scrap rates and run rates
Ensure a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the proper use of equipment and resources
Create department procedures, work instructions, and forms
Implement continuous improvement and cost-reduction strategies
Introduce new technologies and injection molding best practices/standards/methodologies
Participate in validating molding process parameters and mold setup times
Responsible for molding department equipment and preventive maintenance
Participate in design review meetings and tooling meetings internal and external
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
The ability to prioritize production work orders and staff
Overtime/Personnel planning
Mechanically inclined
Good communication skills
Organizational support; follows policies and procedures
The ability to identify employee capabilities and develop employees to a higher level of knowledge and ability
Information systems; able to learn and utilize ERP systems and support systems
Ability to solve problems by analyzing data information and reports
