Position Summary: We are looking for a dependable and safety-oriented Material Handler with forklift experience to join our team in a fast-paced retail distribution facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling, organizing, and moving inventory using forklifts and other warehouse equipment to support accurate and timely order fulfillment. Key Responsibilities:
Operate powered industrial trucks (e.g., sit-down or stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks) to move inventory within the distribution center.
Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments efficiently and accurately.
Pick, stage, and replenish materials and products based on shipping schedules and order requirements.
Ensure proper placement and labeling of inventory in designated warehouse locations.
Scan items and update inventory records using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS).
Assist with regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
Perform pre-operation safety checks and routine maintenance on equipment.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and company policies.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet distribution goals.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
3+ years of material handling experience in a distribution or warehouse environment.
Valid forklift certification with recent hands-on experience.
Comfortable using warehouse technology such as RF scanners or WMS.
Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a high-volume distribution center.
Familiarity with shipping/receiving documentation and order picking procedures.
Knowledge of basic inventory control and logistics principles.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced warehouse environment with exposure to forklifts and other moving equipment.
May involve working in varying temperatures (ambient, refrigerated, etc.).
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) provided as required.
