Job Summary
Moving product around in department, helping areas in department. Will be involved in periodic inventory as needed.Daily activities dictate that, at times, employees will be required to give assistance to fellow employees outside their general duties and responsibilities. All employees are expected to help solve problems as they arise and to assist in the improvement of the efficiency of the company’s operation.

Ability to lift between 10 – 30 pounds.

Steel toes are not required, Future Foam will provide them with safety glasses. Please tell associates to keep up with their safety glasses, they do frown upon having to issue them more than ones. If the position they are going for requires hearing protection they will provide those as well.
They get a 30 minutes lunch and they can leave the premises, however I have always encouraged associates to take a lunch because there is not much near there to go get something and eat within 30min. They have a really nice breakroom with vending machines, multiple microwaves, and refrigerators (they are cleaned out daily so no leaving food inside more than one day
Seasonal Gutter line where they make foam inserts for gutters.
Retick; where they test the foam. They will put samples of the foam into this large round incinerator where they test the foam. This department does require hearing protection.
They have 1st and 2nd shift:
1st shift 7am to 3:30pm, there are times they may need to go in as early as 6am and in shipping they may have to work as late as 5pm. They do have some departments that work 6am to 2:30pm
2nd shift is 3:30pm to 12am
Typically they work Monday through Friday – occasional Saturdays
They are huge on safety! They have Future Foam University; there are 3 videos that associates must watch and 3 quizzes they must take; these are true/false questions and I believe 4 to 5 questions. The total time takes about 17 minutes, however they will pay 30 minutes for this. They will assign an admin person with us that will go in and set up associates as a user. You enter their name and email address and FFU will email them a link and an account key they enter. Once they complete the videos and quiz the associates will be emailed certificates after completion. Please note a score of 80% is required. You will have the associates email you their certificates and these are sent to Missi and Luke Cashion – Safety Director.
Works best to have the associates come into the office to do this so you dont have to try and chase the certificates.
Future Foam is a second chance employer; I have placed people with felonies there in the past, even some that were sex offenders. It’s case by case – all you have to do is run it by Missi and she will give you a yes or no.
Tracy Tysinger is the Supervisor on 1st shift she like to interview her people sometimes. Tracy has been there many years. She is nice but is very blunt and does not tolerate too much. She will communicate by email and her cell phone. Typically they need material handlers and forklift operators (sit-down) on 1st shift.
Material handlers - could be bagging rolls of foam in shipping bags (looks like a giant trash bag). Loading trucks, moving pallets.
Forklift Operators – sit down forklift with side forks made to pick up the buns and rolls. They will move buns/rolls throughout the warehouse and also load trucks.
They will take light lifters as Talliers – Talliers works within the shipping department. Each bun made and staged is labeled with the measurements. When a customer is ready for the bun and it is about to be shipped the Tallier will scan the label on the bun/roll and then measure the bun/roll again (due to bun/roll sitting in the warehouse can shrink/expand) to make sure the customers is charged properly for shipping. So Talliers must be able to read a tape measure and have basic math skills. This is about the only position where you could place a light lifter. Most all other positions will require heavy lifters.
Olin Toller is the Supervisor for the Retick and Gutter Line – he pretty much will always communicate via email.
Justin Knable is the 2nd shift Supervisor. Justin always communicates via email. He will generally not interview for material handlers, however he will for forklift operators and machine operators/Looper Operators. He does not require a resume, just wants to know a little about their experience. On 2nd shift they will also use Tunnel Cleaners – this is a very entry level position. The pour line/conveyor does not operate on 2nd shift so the tunnel cleaners will clean the conveyor and under the conveyor. They will use blowers, brooms and shovels to reform foam. There are access panels along the pour line they will open; this position does require bending and stooping. A very tall person would struggle with this job. A person with little to no English would work for this position.
Please note there are NO light lifters on 2nd shift.
They use a punch in/out time clock. On the first day associates will meet for 1st shift at 8am. There first hour is Safety Orientation with Luke Cashion and he will then take them out to the plant. For 2nd shift they will start their first day at 2:30pm and again the first hour is Safety Orientation and he will then take them out to the plant.
Future Foam will issue safety glasses. Steel toes are not required. They ask no one wears converse type shoes as there is no support in them.
There is a break room with vending machines, fridge and microwave. Lunch is 30 minutes – they can leave the plant during lunch, however please note there is not a lot around to get something so encourage people to take a lunch.
Cell phones are allowed in the plant, however only need to be used during lunch or breaks.
This plant is huge and very old; there are a lot of places where an associate could hide. We need to make sure associates are told to never sit or stand on the foam; no standing on the railings throughout the facility.
On the first day associates report to the main entrance; they take the stairs to the immediate right and follow them up to the reception area. Luke Cashion is generally who they ask for on their first day since they do safety orientation for their first hour.
Missi will send out all request; on occasion Tracy Tysinger will email as well. Missi needs to be copied on all emails.
Missi sends over time each Monday.
These are temp to hire positions; 5 panel DT is fine.
