We are seeking a highly motivated team-player to operate high-end equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will have extensive machine operating experience, specifically in fabrication and CNC machine operating. A keen eye for detail and great dependability are an asset in this role. The position requires working 8-10 hr/day during 1st shift from Monday-Friday and required overtime on Saturdays as needed. Pay rate depends upon experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and numerical control machines to detect malfunctions or maintenance issues prior to use.
Determine dimensions and tolerances of pieces by studying blueprints, manuals, specifications, etc.
Measure and mark pieces as guides for future use
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers
Set controls and commands for machines (speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cuts)
Fit and assemble parts to complete assembly
Install replacement parts in equipment and machines and testing its functionality and performance
Operate welding equipment to cut or weld parts
Work with engineers, production personnel, and programmers to resolve machine maintenance issues.
Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical degree preferred
Proven experience as a machine operator (1-3 years)
Knowledge of and use of heavy machinery
Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, instructions, and manuals
Proven ability to read and use scales, veniers, and micrometers.
Attention to detail.
Great communication skills
