Machine Operator Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Machine Operator Assistant to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will support production operations by loading and unloading glass, performing quality inspections, measuring materials, and assisting with packaging and staging finished products. This position plays a key role in maintaining production flow and ensuring customer orders are completed accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Load and unload glass materials safely and efficiently.
Inspect glass products to ensure quality standards are met.
Measure glass to verify accuracy and specifications.
Assist with cleaning and washing processes.
Assemble and attach hardware to glass products as needed.
Trim excess material from glass edges and prepare products for processing.
Operate, program, or reset production equipment as required.
Sort glass by thickness and specifications.
Package and prepare customer orders for shipment.
Attach work tickets and stage products for the next production department.
Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
Ability to read and understand work orders, production tickets, and instructions.
Manufacturing or production experience is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier items when necessary.
Good vision, including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color vision.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, or holidays as needed.
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, moving equipment, and glass products.
PPE is required at all times.
Fast-paced production setting with a strong focus on safety and quality.
