Machine Operator AssistantJob Summary We are seeking a dependable Machine Operator Assistant to support daily manufacturing operations. This position helps maintain production flow by preparing materials, loading and unloading glass, inspecting products for quality, staging finished products, and assisting machine operators as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Load and unload glass and production materials.
Inspect glass for quality, defects, and accuracy.
Measure glass using a tape measure to ensure correct dimensions.
Apply cleaner to glass as needed for the washing process.
Assemble and attach hardware to glass when required.
Trim excess interlayer from glass edges and load glass onto baking trays.
Program or reset computer controls as needed to complete assigned tasks.
Sort glass according to thickness and production requirements.
Pack completed glass orders for shipment.
Attach tickets or labels to glass and load carts for the next production department.
Stage finished products and materials for the next production process.
Follow all safety and PPE requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to read and use a tape measure.
Ability to read and understand tickets, work orders, and production instructions.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Manufacturing or glass-handling experience is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds; heavier materials may require assistance or team lifting.
Ability to perform tasks requiring close, distance, and peripheral vision.
Ability to demonstrate depth and color perception.
Ability to work occasional weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving glass, machinery, equipment, and noise.
May be exposed to hot and cold temperatures depending on the season and work area.
Employees must follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
