2nd shift Machine Operator Opportunity in Sanford, NC

Our plants consist of production lines that color and bag two different types of recycled rubber mulch in a variety of colors. Our rubber mulch products are used in playgrounds as a safety surface and in landscapes as an alternative to wood mulch.
What you ll do in this role:
Successfully operate the mulch line bagging equipment while complying with all safety standards, regulations and operating procedures
Successfully operate the mulch line bagging equipment following company standards and settings while maximizing production and minimizing downtime
Successfully execute machine set-ups, start-ups, changeovers, steady state operations and preventative maintenance (PM s)
Conduct validation testing to ensure all finished products comply with company packaging and quality control standards and guidelines
Possess and maintain a working knowledge of PLC s and VFD s used to operate bagging equipment.
Monitor and examine equipment to ensure a safe and efficient operation
Troubleshoot equipment stops, breakdowns, and downtime root causes
Notify Plant Manager or Lead Maintenance Technician of any equipment or quality issues or problems
Accurately enter, document and maintain all production paperwork and KPI metrics including daily and hourly production rates, downtime root causes, and the associated downtime minutes
Perform all required equipment cleaning and maintain a clean, safe working environment
Participate in training, retraining and continual improvement processes and methods
Follow and comply with all company safety standards, work rules, and regulations
Performs other duties as assigned
What you ll need to be successful:
High School Diploma or GED, required
2-3 years proven experience in an industrial operations environment, required
Working knowledge and understanding of pneumatic systems, preferred
Experience operating automatic bagging equipment including automatic bagger and bagging scales, preferred
Experience successfully operating a forklift, preferred
Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions;read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, production instructions and electrical wiring diagrams
Strong problem-solving skills and technical mechanical aptitude with an ability to troubleshoot general mechanical and electrical component issues
Familiarity with "Root Cause Analysis" and being able to watch machinery and differentiate between symptoms and causes
Proven ability of maintaining a clean, safe work environment
Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group situations
Successfully operate a wide variety of hand tools, scales, and computer equipment
Strong willingness to work hard, be reliable, remain attentive and pay attention to detail
Ability to stand and move around for long periods of time
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs., required
