1st shift Machine Mechanic with industrial machinery background needed in Wilson, NC. Supervisory and organizational skills are a must. We are looking for a self-motivated team player responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery with a desire to grow within the company. This role may grow into a supervisor position with additional responsibilities; responsible for production/manufacturing operations as it relates to production and employee training and safety. (Safety, Quality, Schedule). Direct supervision over production employees. Work with Management and employees to ensure policies and work instructions are being followed.
Visually inspecting and testing machinery and equipment, listening for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discussing machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose the root cause of problem and repair of the machine.
Prepares Mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains inventory of equipment, parts and supplies by checking stock to determine inventory level.
Anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies; placing expediting orders; verifying receipt.
Monitor daily Production floor operations.
Monitor maintenance on equipment to ensure run rate specified by the schedule.
Handle disputes/issues immediately and follow-up as needed.
Monitor each line for productivity and adherence to policies, procedures, work instructions and safety.
Continuously review processes to increase productivity, quality, and profitability.
Monitor production supply levels and report shortages to Purchasing.
Monitor operational quality of product and call for QA when questionable.
Assists with Training and Orientation
Ensures employees are trained according to their roles.
Desired Skill and Experience:
Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
3-4 years Relevant Mechanical prior experience. Must have a good general mechanical background and a strong mechanical aptitude.
Read and interpret work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals is a must for this job.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Minimum basic knowledge of electrical/electronic background, with an advanced background preferred.
