The On-Line (OL) Inspector is responsible for picking finished products from the forming machine. The duties include visually checking each manufactured part for defects and compliance with the specifications. The role of the OL Inspector is to use their observational skills to notice when a material, product part, or finished product differs from the specifications. The OL Inspector will be the first line of defense when defective parts are generated. The OL Inspector will immediately notify the appropriate personnel to correct the problem when a significant issue is detected. Quality items will be counted and stacked in preparation for packing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Pick finished parts off the production machine conveyor belt or bed.
Cull out defective parts.
Count products for packing.
Notify the appropriate personnel when any major product or equipment defects are detected.
Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area.
Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations.
Wear necessary personal protective equipment as required.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Good Interpersonal skills needed; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Ability to identify defective parts and to count parts.
Self-starter, motivated, energetic.
Knowledge of basic workplace safety practices and the proper use of PPE in the workplace.
Dexterity, physical strength, and physical stamina.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift to 40 pounds.
Dexterity, physical strength, and physical stamina.
Ability to step up onto the production platform and stand for extended periods.
Able to work at a fast pace for periods of 4 hours at high temperature for a 12-hour shift
Ability to see details at close range to detect defects.
Able to work in areas with temperatures over 100 degrees
Physical stamina to remain actively working on a production line in 4–5-hour intervals for the duration of a 12-hour shift
