Warehouse Operator Job Duties and Responsibilities
Shipping and Receiving Experience and Skills:
• 5+ years Shipping & Receiving experience
• Reach Truck & sit-down Forklift certification
• ERP scan gun experience preferred and/or the ability to learn how to use one
• Physical stamina: must be able to lift 50+ pounds at a time
• Written English and oral, or English as a second language
• Must be able to work eight hours with occasional overtime to load late trucks upon notice
• Familiar with common warehouse tools and equipment
• Ability to use a computer for data entry and printing
• Receiving, stocking, sorting, and stacking
• Pulling, packing, and pallet loading
• Reliable transportation
• Comfortable working independently and within a team
• Strong sense of time organization and urgency
• Makes safety a priority
Responsibilities:
• Take direction from the Warehouse Manager on establishing priorities on shipping, receiving, and stocking materials/products in the warehouse.
• Manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
• Track, trace, and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Maintains a clean work environment, which may include manual sweeping and cleanup of pallet debris, plastic wrap etc. as well as drive and maintain a floor washer.
• Promptly unload trucks, sort received materials and stock in the warehouse.
• Contact truck dispatchers to arrange for pickups.
• Pick materials for shipment, load onto pallets, wrap pallets, & prepare shipping papers for outgoing trucks.
• Coordinate loading of materials and products onto trucks. Ensure that paperwork is completed and signed. Proper copies of shipping papers are retained by company. Coordinate with driver that truck has proper hazmat placards.
• Coordinate with Warehouse Manager and Corporate EHS Director that product containers have proper hazmat labels and placards before shipment.
• Maintain an accurate accounting of all daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.
• Engage with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.
