Machine Operator General Associate will set up and run Extruder Machine Specific - Associate will check tools and equipment prior to starting the process - Associate will set up work area. * A combo set up underneath chute. water in the machine, replaced blades, and replacing of the Piston Screen - Associate will monitor the display board on the machine thru out the shift * the display board shows all meters and gauges for this machine. It also shows all alerts that the operator must be familiar with. * This associate must have an working knowledge of computer operations - The associate will bring a pallet with product to the machine and place in the dumper. - The associate will tilt the product onto the conveyor belt and monitor the feeding process thru out the shift - Associate will check the quality of product. If there is a discrepancy. he will stop the process and notify leadership - The associate will clean this machine during and after shift. * The associate will replace the Piston Screen every 3 hours. This will be done while the machine runs. The associate will open the piston cover to expose the piston. The associate will then take a putty knife and remove the excess product from the piston to access the piston screen. Once the product is cleared from the access cover, the associate will attach a 3- prong ratchet and remove the cover. The screen will then be removed. Once that is done, a new screen will be put in place, attach the cover and close the piston. ** THIS IS AN EXTREMELY HOT AREA OF THIS MACHINE. CAUTION MUST BE USED AT ALL TIMES WHILE PERFORMING THIS TASK. SERIOUS BURNS CAN OCCUR! LEATHER GLOVES, SAFETY GLASSES, FACE SHIELD AND SLEEVES MUST BE USED WHEN PERFORMING THIS TASK. THERE IS NO EXCEPTION. FAILURE TO WEAR THE PROPER PPE, THE ASSOCIATE WILL BE TERMINATED FOR A SAFETY VIOLATION - The associate will be required to replace the blades on the pin wheel - The associate will open the bottom and top latch on the blade acsess cover - The associate will remove the cover to expose the pin wheel with blades (The wheel has 3 blades that are attached by a screw. The blade is 1 3/4" by 3/4") - Once the cover is removed, the associate will remove the pin wheel and bring it to the work station - Once at the work station, the associate will remove the blade using a cross tip screw driver and replace it with a new blade. The old blade will be depoited in to the bucket on the work table with other discarded blades. - The associate will then re install the pin wheel with the new blades, close the cover, secure both top and bottom latch - The associate will then continue with the process *This operator will monitor this machine alone. When the associate is completed with a task, they must move to the next. This is a continuos operation. Any needed MAINTENANCE, will NOT BE performed by the associate. The associate is required to notify leadership - Proper dress. - Housekeeping. - Fire detection and emergency evacuation - Observe all safety rules and regulations for self and others.
