Carpet Baler /Production Worker Position Summary The Production Worker is responsible for manually feeding carpet and other materials into a baler while maintaining a safe, clean and efficient production area. The position requires physical stamina, attention to safety, and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities? Feed carpet manually into the baler at a steady and consistent pace.? Operate the baler according to company safety procedures and operating instructions. Monitor the baler during operation and report equipment issues to the supervisor.? Assist with removing, stacking, wrapping, and organizing compressed carpet bales.? Sort carpet and materials according to production requirements.? Inspect materials for items that should not be placed into the baler.? Keep the work area clean and free of debris and trip hazards.? Maintain a safe distance from moving equipment and follow all lockout/tag out and safety procedures.? Assist coworkers with material handling and other production tasks as needed.? Move materials using carts, pallet jacks, or other approved equipment when trained and authorized.? Maintain production quality and meet established productivity standards.? Follow all company policies, safety rules, and attendance requirements.? Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).? Report unsafe conditions, injuries, damaged equipment, or material problems immediately.? Perform other general labor and production duties as assigned. Physical Requirements? Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. ? Ability to repeatedly bend, reach, pull, push, and lift materials.? Ability to handle carpet and other production materials throughout the shift.? Ability to lift and move materials within the requirements of the position.? Ability to work around industrial equipment, dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Qualifications? Previous manufacturing, warehouse, recycling, or general labor experience preferred.? Previous baler or industrial equipment experience is a plus.? Ability to follow safety procedures and verbal/written instructions.? Reliable attendance and punctuality.? Ability to work independently and as part of a team.? Strong awareness of surroundings and commitment to workplace safety.? Willingness to perform repetitive physical work in a production environment.
